Election Information for Voters
By logging into voterlookup.ca, eligible electors can:
- confirm or update their electoral information,
- add an elector name to an address, and
- change school support.
Even if you voted in a recent election, you may not be on the Municipal Voters List.
Voters can cast their ballot in person on October 15, 2022 and October 24, 2022, at the Golden Age Club, 22 Argentite Street, Cobalt for the following offices:
- Mayor (1)
- Councillor (6)
- School Board Trustees
The voterlookup.ca site is owned and managed by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC), responsible for identifying all potential municipal, school board and District Social Services Administration Board electors.

Election Information for Candidates
The upcoming Municipal Election to elect a Mayor, Councillors and School Board Trustees will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022. This Four (4) Year Term of Office starts November 15, 2022 and will end on November 14, 2026.
Filing Nomination Papers
Nominations can be filed starting Monday May 2, 2022 and ending August 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. You must file in person at 18 Silver Street Cobalt.
- The municipality has Nomination Packages available for interested candidates that can be downloaded here or can be picked up at the Municipal Office. If downloading, please add the following 5 forms.
- Nomination Paper – form 1
- Appointment for Voting Proxy – form 3
- Financial Statement – Auditor’s Report Candidate – form 4
- Financial statement – subsequent expenses – form 5
- Notice of extension of campaign period – form 6
- Identification must be provided at the time of filing your nomination paper. If an agent is filing on your behalf they must have identification for you and provide their own identification.
- Nomination fees are $100.00 for Councillors and $200.00 for the Office of Mayor.
