Colonial Adit Tour
Experience early mining. The Colonial Mine was in operation from 1907 until 1937 and produced 1.25 million ounces of silver. Interpretive guided tours of this site are available through the Cobalt Mining Museum. The visitor has an opportunity to experience the reality of early silver mining in an underground tunnel.
This Adit has been maintained in excellent condition and still echoes the days when men carved out these tunnels with hand steel, searching for the vein that would make their fortune.
